Perspectives on Research Support: Toward a More Signal-Averaged View

This discussion presents a personal view of recent trends in the funding of NIH research projects, eflorts to increase that support, and the effects of both on new investigators. It is based on a talk presented at the Association of Chairmen of Departments of Physiology, Los Cabos, December 1994.
