Growing interest in revitalizing student learning and creating new ties to local and regional communities has led to the introduction of academic service-learning curricula in colleges and universities across Asia. The paper analyzes shared aspects of approaches currently underway in Asia, and indicates the pedagogical importance of experience, knowledge and reflection in partnership with agencies, faculty and students in creating contextualized forms of learning
