Few issues have received as much attention in the field of audiology as binaural hearing aid fitting- that is, the fitting of two hearing aids in the presence of bilateral hearing loss. Indeed, as one reviews the literature of the 80's, one can easily find references to articles that cautioned care in binaural amplification (Berger, 1984; Berger & Hagberg, 1989; Gatehouse & Haggard, 1986).
