The kinetics of electrocrystallization of nanostructured gold is investigated and the physical proper-ties of nanostructured materials such as thermal stability, surface roughness and hardness are im-proved. A new stable non-toxic electrolyte for the electrodeposition of gold and gold alloys is pre-sented. Nanoscaling is achieved by pulse techniques. The possibility of controlling the crystallite size depending on physical and chemical process parameters such as pulse duration, current density, bath temperature, type and amount of additives is shown.
