First and foremost, I would like to thank Prof. Peter Bühlmann for supervising my thesis. I could learn many different things from him in the fields of statistics, mathematics and research. And asking the rele-vant questions, positive thinkingness, leadership and presentation skills are further strengths of Peter. Experiencing his diverse excellent quali-ties during the last years is what I will be ever thankful to him. Thank you! In addition, I would like to thank him for giving me the opportunity to attend many conferences and thereby presenting my work and meet-ing excellent researchers. In doing so, he opened the door for inspiring collaborations with statisticians from Berlin and Mannheim. Many thanks to Prof. Sara van de Geer for her contribution to this thesis and for acting as co-examiner. She encouraged me to improve and clarify the theoretical parts of this study. A very kind “thank you ” is devoted to Prof. Werner Stahel. He of-fered me the opportunity to stay at the Seminar für Statistik (SfS) after my studies. He introduced me to the wide field of statistical consulting and thereby building the basis for my Ph.D. thesis. Furthermore, I would like to thank all my colleagues at the Seminar für Statistik. They have established a familial environment where it is great to work. In particular, I thank all the teaching assistants at the SfS.
