Hungarian spatial adpositional phrases exhibit very similar prop-erties to those in other languages in that they can denote places and paths, and their structural ordering is such that path-denoting postpositions are outside place-denoting ones. One type of postposi-tional element (the ‘dressed ’ Ps) shares various syntactic properties with oblique case suffixes, while members of the other group of post-positions (‘naked ’ Ps) are more like particles. All of these, however, are generated in an extended PP-structure with designated positions for place, path and direction. 1
