Abstract- This paper present a robust automated control design of power system stabilizer (PSS) based on two advanced frequency control techniques: a loop-shaping H ∞ controller (HinfPSS) and quadratic H2 approach (H2PSS). The control objective is to enhance the stability and to improve the dynamic response of a single-machine power system operating in different conditions. Simulation results show that this control strategy is very robust, flexible and alternative performance. The nonlinear model of the power system is constructed with the differential equations.
