In this paper we focus on our recent research with respect to visual discomfort of stereoscopic displays. Our results suggest that 1) visual comfort of stereoscopic scenes can be modeled as a combined effect of screen disparity range with to a lesser extent screen disparity offset, changing screen disparity and lateral motion of which the specific contributions depend on content activity in the scene, 2) a combination of fusion range measurements and self-report is appropriate for evaluating visual fatigue of stereoscopic stills, and 3) a simple measurement tool, i.e., the ratio in reading performance between 2D and 3D, is appropriate to differentiate people in terms of susceptibility to visual fatigue associated to 3D displays. 1
