Current tooling used to analyze the quality of a software architecture focusses on a single version. The results of the metrics involved in this analysis are often visualized separately from analyzed artefact. With the creation of the MetricView tool [Ter05] it was shown that the Geographic Information System (GIS) approach to metrics visualization, in which metrics and artifact visualization is combined, is a viable alternative.
