Conga – The Context Gallery Using Context Awareness for Personal Content Management on Mobile Devices

www.imm.dtu.dk In this thesis, I will present my suggestion of using context awareness to ease personal content management on mobile computing devices. Different approaches to content management exist, with the use of folder hierarchies being the predominant solution in use today. Other approaches used are tagging, and annotating content using faceted metadata. Common for all these approaches is the tediousness inherent in managing content manually, as well as the user interface problems present in using them on certain types of mobile computing devices, due to the limitations in user interaction options. To lower the impact of these problems, I suggest automatically gathering context information and use it to semi-automatically annotate generated content. This context information can then be used to provide the user of the context aware personal content management system with different search and filtering options, easing the task of organizing content
