Abstract { The need for intuitive cursor control in 3D, aside from other applications, is especially needed in entertainment, where gamers are currently conned to 2D control by ordinary controllers. State-of-the-art smartphones contain sensors which allow tracking the 3D rotation of the device in re-lation to earth. By further employing the touch screen, it is possible to control the position of a cursor in 3D. This paper presents strategies for 3D cursor control and discusses the benets and drawbacks of each one. Results from an informal evaluation hint at users favoring a free-moving technique for our game scenario
