The purpose of this paper is to assess the effectiveness of the ExCEEd (Excellence in Civil Engineering Education) Teaching Workshop (ETW) through daily documented thoughts, feelings, and impressions of one team, consisting of four participants with less than four years of teaching experience and two mentors. The paper also includes a follow-up assessment one-year after the workshop. The following topics are covered: teaching principles implemented, overall results, proposed future adjustments, and realized benefits. ETW is an American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) sponsored one-week course offered at the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) and the University of Arkansas.
