Loop heat pipes (LHPs) are heat transfer devices whose operating principle is based on the evaporation/condensation of a working fluid, and which use the capillary pumping forces to ensure the fluid circulation. Their major advantages as compared to heat pipes are an ability to operate against gravity and a greater maximum heat transport capability. In this paper, a literature review is carried out in order to investigate how various parameters affect the LHP operational characteristics.
