driven simulation, process networks This paper describes CPNSim, a tool to simulate Computational Process Networks. In the process network model of computation, concurrent processes are connected by unidirectional first in, first out (FIFO) queues to form a network. This model is a natural way to describe, for instance, streams of data samples in a signal processing system. The Computational Process Network (CPN) model augments the original process network by considering firing thresholds. In this paper, after presenting the theory of CPNs, the structure of the event-driven simulator is detailed. As a case study, the simulation of a workload composed of signal processing jobs is presented and analyzed. 1
