There is a long history of research in social psychologyon the relationship between measures of attitudes and behaviors. This research has been reinvigorated in recent years by theoretical accounts that specify a role for implicit and explicit measures of attitudes in determining behavior (e.g., Fazio & Olson, 2003; Strack & Deutsch, 2004; Wilson, Lindsey, & Schooler, 2000).
