The use of technology is pervasive in contemporary society. Although there are many ways in which society benefits from technology, instances of its misuse and abuse give strong cause for concern. To combat the problem of increasingly inappropriate technology use, children need to be educated on how to use technology appropriately. This project includes two digital citizenship units, one each for fifth- and sixth-grade students. Each unit consists of nine lessons, each designed around the National Education Technology Standards (NETS). The objective of this project was to provide teachers with a comprehensive curriculum that will increase student awareness of the issues related to digital citizenship and safety, providing them with strategies to make wise choices in regard to the use of technology
