People of all class, religious, and caste backgrounds use sex determination and sex preselection facilities. The media, scientists, medical profession, government officials, women’s groups, and academics have campaigned either for or against their use in this way. Population control and money making are the concerns of those who support the tests and the survival of women is the concern of those who oppose the tests. The Forum Against Sex Determination and Sex Preselection has made concerned efforts to fight against the abuse of these scientific techniques
