The newest wave of globalisation has exacerbated old problems for the Caribbean region in almost every sphere of its political economy. One such challenge comes in the form of the consequences of the shift from agriculture to an almost total dependency on tourism. Many scholars and observers have contended that while the Caribbean garners most of its revenue from tourism, it has had to contend with negative consequences such as the escalation of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. This paper looks at that dilemma for policy makers in Grenada.
