In this work, two separate items, harmonic balance and phase-noise analysis, have been investigated. Harmonic balance is an analysis method that solves the periodic (or quasi-periodic) steady state of a circuit. After the large signal steady state has been solved, a noise analysis can be carried out. It is assumed that the noise is small-signal noise. In the rst part, the fundamentals of the harmonic balance analysis method are reviewed in short. The implementation of nodal harmonic balance (NHB) is explained in detail, and the implemented method is compared with the traditional piecewise harmonic balance (PHB).
