Ambulances are often the last hope for life in critical medical situations. In order for an ambulance to safely transport a patient to the hospital, the patient may receive a variety of medical treatments. Many of these treatments require the use of the devices which rely on electrical power. The possibility of an ambulance not supplying enough power to medical devices is a major concern, resulting in a need for more reliable and efficient systems. To address this problem, the overall power consumption of an ambulance was calculated and compared to the actual electrical requirements. Alternate forms of power generation which could be utilized within an ambulance are discussed, in order to implement a more efficient power system. Among the m...
