In 2001, MDS Proteomics experimentally generated a large protein-protein interaction (PPI) dataset. A team of researchers from the University of Toronto, University of Ottawa and MDS Proteomics analyzed this dataset and through computational analysis reduced the set to approximately 6500 interactions. This dataset has been made available to the public domain as supplementary information to the Ewing et al publication. It ranks as one of the largest experimentally determined PPI datasets published to date, and its significance to the biomedical research community is rated very high.
