Recent results within the field of hardware devel-opment are the basis for so-called mobile computers which are smaller in size than desktop or laptop computers while still possessing nearly the same ca-pability. Wearable computers can be used in combi-nation with even smaller devices – the so-called handhelds or personal digital assistants. Wearable computers not only provide users with the comput-ing support needed, but also with newly developed input and output devices supporting alternate ways of interaction with the computing device on the con-struction site. Another possibility for improved usage of com-puters on the construction site is the availability of several types of high-performance wireless net
