Software Development Aspects of a Mobile Food Ordering System

Abstract — Mobile devices and wireless technologies are making a large impact on our lives. Companies that develop mobile applications are continuously evolving their products, aiming at satisfying the customers ’ needs even more comprehensively and at higher levels of quality. The Mobile Food Ordering System (MFOS) proposed in this paper is one of the tools that intends to provide a food ordering application on mobile devices for ordering food from different stores with the option of both delivery and pickup. MFOS offers many useful features to customers, including the map location of the food store, detailed menus, and previous order lookup. By using MFOS, the users do not have to wait in a queue at the restaurants. The paper presents the main functions, key usability aspects, software model, and prototype of MFOS
