This paper focuses on the effectiveness of using blog exchanges for intercultural learning and improving linguistic competence. An overview of the use of blogs for language learning is followed by data analysis from the author’s two exchange projects between university English classes in Japan and both English and Japanese classes in the United States. This paper ends by offering insights about how to conduct international blog exchanges. 1
