With the rapid advancements of biomedical engineering and wireless communication it is possible to develop body sensor networks (BSN) which support a range of applications including medical and healthcare systems. The aim of the research is to propose a prototype of BSN-based wearable wireless monitoring system optimized to monitor patient’s activity and physiological signals. The system consists of a number of miniature sensors (ECG, accelerometer, GPS sensor, temperature sensor), wireless modules (Bluetooth) and a gateway node to connect to the external database server.
