Repetitive and Correlative Coordinators as Focus Particles

Parasitic on Coordinators* This paper presents a cross-linguistic study of the syntax of constructions in which both conjuncts of a coordinate complex have their own coordinator-like element. It is shown that in such constructions, only one coordinator is the head of the whole complex, while the other one is a focus particle parasitic on the associate coordinator. 1
