At the same time, Shoreline Management now requires predictions of coastal evolution up to 100 years in the future. This leads to the challenge of predicting coastal geomorphic behaviour at the mesoscale (101 to 102 km and 101 to 102 years). Currently, this is often based on expert judgement.
