Abstract:- Since scientific applications usually manipulate a very huge volume of data, parallel computing is the best choice for solving this kind of applications. However, making parallel programs is not an easy task for programmers. They need to have a good tool or environment wherein they can easily specify what they want to solve. Because of the complexity in making parallel programs, visual programming is a very promising approach in this area. This paper describes a system that allows the creation of programs from algorithmic “film” specifications, where the use of text is minimal. In this system, a language of micro-icons is used to specify any collective operation and this paper shows how this visual programming environment support...
