Five fluidic characterization methods were used to evaluate the performance of a complete pulsatile-flow, continuous micromixing system which utilizes new technology pumps and valves. Although microfluidic systems have been described previously in the literature [1], this is the first time that a detailed fluidic characterization of such a system has been performed. This characterization included fluorescence detection, Digital Particle Image Velocimetry, and pressure versus flow rate measurements
