Abstract-A model for predicting bubble growth and detachment at a single submerged orifice using an interfacial element approach is presented. The theoretical development of the model takes into account the gas kinetic energy and liquid circulation around the bubble as well as the effect of necking of the bubble surface. The calculated values of bubble volume and gas chamber pressure with time are compared with a wide range of experimental data in the literature. The results are in good agreement for single bubbling. 1
