Abstract. We propose a middleware system for web search adaptable to user preference querying as well as user independent fulltext search. We cover also induction of user preferences and effective query answering. A prototype of a new annotation tool is described. The system employs a formal model of user preferences based on fuzzy logic. Experimental implementation of this system integrates several independent software tools. 1
