Since the beginning of the current school year the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium Bonn has been util-ising Android-based smartphones as an initial mod-ule in computer science courses. Students learn how to develop their own apps either using Java and An-droid SDK within Eclipse in advanced courses or us-ing Google's App Inventor as a block-based program-ming language in beginner courses. This article intro-duces ongoing projects and provides a short summary of the preliminary results.
